Chapter 1.

Darkness. Cold. A harsh wind ruffled Pulti's thick purple fur, his paws searing on the cold floor underneath him. Oh, this dream again, he thought as he opened his eyes, met with the familiar 4 paths. a Red line, a Blue line, a Yellow line, and a Green line lay before him, glowing starkly against the pitch black eternity past them.
He steeled himself, then attempted to place his paw on the Red line - immediately falling into the depths below. With a gasp, he found himself back at the same spot, not that one, he thought as he calmed his breath.
Slow inhale. He placed his paw onto the Yellow line. He was relieved to feel his weight settle onto the platform, and exhaled.
The path was long and winding, crossing over the other paths several times - which he had to jump the gap of - just as usual. Making it to the end of the path, finally, he came to the same doorway as usual. A large, imposing gate stood before him. Pushing it open, he stepped through -

Suddenly, air buffeted his fur as he jolted upright in bed, his covers flying off and covering the yellow plush which lay there. The scent of dust and the forest outside in the air burning inside his chest. Standing, he grabbed the small twin hoop earrings with a chain and put them in as he padded lazily to his desk, only a few short feet from his bed, and flopped into the soft cushion of his chair. He relaxed, taking in the cold october air, the scents of his old house, before opening his eyes and running them across the Calender above his desk. October 31st. "It's halloween already?", checking off the 31st square in the grid with the inkpen from his desk.
He extended his still-waking arm down to his computer in the bottom of his desk, pressing the cold button firmly with his fingerpad, the fans inside the plastic box whirring loudly to life, a high 'beep!' emitting soon thereafter. He leaned back, stretching his arms and back against his chair as his computer booted.
He placed his paws on his soft wrist-wrest infront of his keyboard, ready to get to work.

Aaaand, enter, he slammed the warm plastic enter key with his fingerpad, his computer getting to work compiling his additions to his program - a robust note-taking app. Just something to distract him a while.
Yes! He pumped his fist as his program successfully compiled - Knock! Knock! Knock! - His celebration was cut short. He glanced up at the clock - 10:31 PM. What kid would be out here in the forest so late?
Sighing breathily as he stood, he surveyed his room. Hm. Well, I might aswell give them something. His eyes caught on his Lemoncat plush - the mascot of his favourite lemon candy. He padded over and quickly snatched it up, before walking to the front door, and swinging it open, the frigid night air singing under his fur. "Where are your parents-" he cut himself off. There's no kid here.
Leaning out the door, he looked left - then right. No kid in sight, just the dark crimson trees, pink leaves rustling noisily, the pitch black empty sky high above. Ugh. I can't just leave a kid out here alone.
The cold grass seared against his warm, soft pawpads, as he walked down the overgrown trail toward the nearest town Surely they came from this way?.

Suddenly. The path branched into four - the trail was gone. Signs marked the paths. One with Red text 'Alder', One with Blue text 'Rattle', One with Green text 'Eweville', and one with Yellow text 'Jubatus".
